I enjoyed it, but I can see how it was an A-. I know from experience that it is hard when writing an analytic paper like this to cut down on overdescription of the system before analysizing it (since that what we have all been taught--assume the person reading it has never seen any of this information before), and it is definitely a mistake I have made many, many times. Cutting down on description would have freed up some space for illuminating the really strong points that you had.
Otherwise, I thought your line of reasoning was really strong, and that your style of writing was enjoyable, fluid and free from the stiffness and dry feel that often encompanies papers about politics. This is the kind of work that one should be proud of, rather than harping on the grade.
I coundn't read the thing because my computer is a moody cow. Sorry - but I'm sure it was good (banal comment, sorry again.) Just to say, I emailed you, but I am on holiday at the mo and so cannot check school email - do forward it to whichever is on my profile if you would like me to reply within four and a half weeks! Miranda xx P.S. Is this you in the photo?
Hey Miranda no worries, I've been buried under finals (one product of which was that paper), so I've yet to respond. But I shall certainly do so now that I know I'll hear back in four weeks!
In the picture I am on the left, and a dear friend of mine on exchange last year from Paris is on the right. We were in San Francisco having a last wild trip through the west coast of the U.S. before he flew back to France.
However, in 11 days I am flying to Paris to stay with him for the holidays, which has me *very* excited!

Hope that wasn't too harsh.
