Case Notes - Masqué and his Involvement

CAMP FUCK YOU DIE - STEPHAN DEBUSSEY CASE
Section: Masqué

Person identifying himself as “Masqué” sends out invitations to 34 people to attend dinner at a mansion previously unknown within camp grounds. Masqué had been previously sighted in camp, and was responsible for the disappearance/presumed murder of the Loudspeaker in May 2009.

Real motive to the invitations was a game of Cry Wolf → the same game that caused players to fall into comas previously in March 2009. While the game is known to some people and is usually harmless, Masqué’s game involved real deaths and ‘eatings’ of those eaten and ousted. Players in the game were branded with the mark of the raven on the neck through unknown means.

Four players per night were killed; two via the ousting, two via the wolves. All four would be locked in a basement by Masqué, who would eat them the following night.

→ Note: Masqué displayed a preference for younger children, appearing disinterested in older campers and counsellors playing. This did not stop him eating whoever ended up ousted/killed, no matter the age. Also dropped his pretence of manners when it came close to ousting time, or when angry.

First ousting of the game seemingly went according to Masqué’s plan until afterwards, when he received a letter (almost certainly from Elizabeth Sayre). Judging from reaction, the Director intended to interfere or stop Masqué’s actions. Masqué was heard to say:

“I removed her brother, I removed her fiancé, wasn't that enough for a warning?”

Masqué then left the mansion and was not present for the second ousting. Returned after ousting was finished to consume first ousting/eating’s victims. Second lot of ousted/eaten were confined to the same basement until the next night.

Third ousting: circumstances suggest that remaining players boycotted the ousting entirely, sending Masqué into another rage. Masqué returned to the basement to kill victims from the second night.

→ Game progress after this point was not witnessed.

Victims of Masqué returned to life underground, in the sub-labs below the better known ones. These labs are the same as the ones that spawned the zombie invasion in May 2009. Evidence in first room and others suggests test subjects were used here at some point. Sub-labs were also inhabited by other creatures of unknown sorts.

Sub-labs appear to have been abandoned for a very long time. There were mentions of “CEO Sayre” and “Ms. Sayre” among the debris, including a portrait of one “Emeril Sayre, CEO”. Whilst in the labs, the Loudspeaker was found again, after his fall into the underground in May. After discussion and regrouping of all those who ended up in the labs, concentrated effort was made to escape the labs, despite protests from the Loudspeaker. A fight ensued against the zombified mother of the Loudspeaker before breaking through and back to the surface.

→ Lab exit is beyond the lake.

Upon return, witnessed Masqué fighting Stephan Debussey on the back of the zombie mother. Masqué claimed to have eaten Debussey’s sister and killed Debussey in front of Sayre. The Loudspeaker then shot Masqué in the head from behind, killing him. Masqué’s death caused the brands to vanish.

Given the new information in this case, my personal opinion is that any murder charges against campers are completely false. Masqué’s actions and comments lead me to believe that he is the one behind Debussey’s supposed death, as well as other criminal, dangerous acts. In addition to this, I now suspect that the Director’s reasons for bringing children into this place is as bait to keep Masqué in the area, as all signs point to her being aware of his presence. At the moment I’m still not certain that the Director knows Debussey is alive; he seems to think she doesn’t, and there’s no indication otherwise. However, if she is aware of Masqué and potentially suspects his hand in Debussey’s death, then it’s my personal belief that this is the reason why campers are brought in under the pretence of being murder suspects.

((OOC: This is by no means an exhaustive/complete summary of what happened in the CFUW game. It's been written ICly, so it only has what Klavier knows; considering he died pretty early, he isn't aware of all the dealings of the game and I assume he hasn't looked into it too much. This is just a summary for my own use, and as something I can hand off ICly to lawyers or anyone who wants to see the files.

Also if I misspelled any character names/messed up facts/typed reel gud, I'm sorry :(. I will fix it up and add updates later.))
