its any sort of reassurance, generally speaking the only times I hear you go on about your stuff is because someone has asked you about it.

It seems that due to cultural training or whatever, lots of men, especially men in their 20s, don't deal well with emotions. Speaking from experience, I've done some stupid things, not understanding why at the time, which were attempts to push away "feelings" (see, I still can't even type the word without quotation marks).

Objectively, your story sounds like you were dealing with things you had no control over, things you couldn't fix. And not being able to fix them you had to do something. Cause that's what guys do. Something. Badly.

Anyway, maybe that's just my poppsychology. But we all do asshole things at times. It's what we do. The only thing then is to learn from them. Which I'd say you have done many times over. So hooray for you.
