I'm not asking to be added, but I did want to say THANK YOU for your recent comments on Tums and talc. I also get tired of the knee-jerk anti-medical alarmist stuff (delivered with side servings of attitude and condescension).

Thank you, I truly appreciate that.
It isn't that I don't appreciate any advice others have to offer, or respect their personal decisions, but being an alarmist does no good for any of us, and while I don't believe that doctors, or midwives for that matter, are all-knowing, we should be able to believe in and respect the fact that they (generally) have our best interest in mind. And in relation to that very thread, I simply don't believe that so many doctors and midwives would continue to recommend regular Tums if they were loaded with carcinogens, but that's just one example of how general medical advice is being bashed and we're being made to feel like idiots by some people who claim to have our best interests at heart. Bleh. To each his own, provided our children aren't at risk, right?
Best of luck to you, and thank you for the support.

Thanks -- I feel pretty much the same way. I don't mind advice, and I'm happy to listen to midwives as well as doctors. But sheesh, can we get some credit for having our own best interest (and our babies' best interests) at heart?
