Don't forget Adonis!! Or marble sculpted!!

Blech. I read the first book to see what all the fuss was about and nearly threw it against the wall multiple times. Utter, utter crap. I'm on Team Bella Gets Therapy And Goes To College And Stops Defining Herself Based On The Men In Her Life. Awful awful dreck.

Good luck. I hear they just get worse and worse.

You should definitely watch Vampires Suck after you finish reading. I only got about 60% of the jokes since my only knowledge of Twilight is what I have absorbed from like pop culture references, but I still found it hilarious and Alicia found it really hilarious since she got everything.

Something to look forward to, I guess.

Ps, if you want, I can give you a lot of other examples of good writing that holds 14 year olds these days.

More books for 14 year olds would be wonderful! And I will definitely watch that when I'm done with the next two torturous books.

The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games, omg. I love this trilogy, I've never met a kid or anyone else who didn't love them. Tyssa's sister Camille, who is in high school and does not like to read much, apparently read them all within a week. Tyssa herself sent me a message to say, "I started the 3rd book last night. And by started, I mean I read half the book." It's a future dystopia told from the point of view of Katniss, a 14 year old girl. The author is Suzanne Collins and the books, in order, are: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay.

One series that's really catching on fast is The Missing by Margaret Peterson Haddix. I'm in the middle of the first book of the series, Found, right now and it's super hard to put down. It's about a group of adopted kids who are all 13 and begin to unravel the mystery of where they came from (hint: time travel ( ... )

I have The Hunger Games on my Kindle. I'm waiting until I can afford the other two before I start it because I've heard so many good things about the series. I wasn't sure if it'd be for older teens though, so I didn't mention them.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! That last one reminds me a bit of Lemony Snicket. Do you own all these or rent them from the library?
