How can anyone not love the lyrics to "Graceland"?

So I'm updating my livejournal for the first time in ages, but I'm not really gonna do the thing where I tell you what I've been up to because:

1) I don't think anyone really cares THAT much. (Not in a self-deprecating, NOBODY LOVES ME! way. More of a, well, you've lasted this long... way)
2) It ( Read more... )

Since October I have been to one gig and extended my work placement and faced a fear and tried to grow some bulbs which were then eaten by a squirrel that visits my balcony and not found a proper job and eaten lots of porridge and met some new people and been sad and been happy and scuffed my boots and I don't think I should make this sentence much longer as I might run out of breath.

I have also scuffed my boots, which is a bit upsetting because I fully intended to have them last me ages.

What gig?

What job?

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to do some repair work on them, but I'm scared that the polish I've got is darker than my boots so they might look different - plus the fact that they are knee high and it will take me a while to do all of them...

Delays

Placement with the Architectural Heritage Society. Ok, but next to no money.

Good to have an update from you! I realised that I totally intended to write to you after you sent me the mixed tape and I never did. For that I wholeheartedly apologise, my yellow wobbly friend.

Are they not black boots? At least my boots are black so I can't go too far wrong with the black polish I have for them. Good luck, soldier.

And the Delaaaaays. They have a new album out soon, no? I never listened to their second album but I have their first and I quite like it. Were they good? Who was supporting?

This Architectural Heritage Society means nothing to me and I think you've made it up.

Don't sweat it.

Since your last post I've started university, passed all my assignments, been bought a car, gone to Spain on a football tour [only just got back this morning actually], been chosen to become a Sports Ambassador for the university and injured myself many times.

How about you?

Rock out. How are you liking Kingston?

I have been rocking out.

Rocking out's good.

As is Kingston. I live opposite the river which is good. Nearly fallen in a few times..sometimes sober, sometimes not so sober.

Which university do you go to? You live/lived in Richmond, right?

I work in Richmond. I doubt I could afford to live in Richmond. That shiz is mental expensive.

I'm not at uni yet. I'm going to Imperial in October.

And don't fall into the river - how non-committal. You've got to jump. (For my love.)

Since October I have spoken to you on several occasions, told you slightly (ok, very) dorky chemistry jokes, and have most recently returned from the cinema after watching the crock of shite that would otherwise be referred to as Vantage Point.

I also loved Juno (but that's another sentence, and a whole other story).

I love your Chemistry jokes.

I love you.

Let's talk Juno at some point.

(I thought Vantage Point looked pretty interesting. It was no good?)

"Going to see William" sounds like you're going round his house.

Oh man - are you going round his house???

I have heard briefly from Sara/Waffle and she's doing good but I think she's just a bit busy with school and life.
