1. Duuuuude. Lizard men with a moon gun during cave investigation connected to the Order of Silver Twilight. I totally envy you your Call of Cthulhu game.
2. When characters die in D&D, it's a loss. When characters die in Call of Cthulhu, it's a win. 2a. Although it's more of a win if you can either scream in character or go out talking a huge amount of total gibberish, so I can see how that was sorta disappointing. Did you at least get the satisfaction of having your character turned inside out while still alive or something like that?
I said it on facebook but it bears repeating: 1d6 Investigators a round is the greatest damage entry of all time.
Speaking of-- I think I read somewhere about a saga of 20th level DnD characters pitted against the d20 Cthulhu, with any dead character being replaced by a new, fresh 20th level character...which ended up killing teens of test players & finally ended with Cthulhu being Imprisoned (which; oh so fitting). Were in involved in this at all?
Not that session, but it happened at my regular game table at Monte's place. I think he may have run it at one of his famous "Monte Con" house parties.
good article! i've always had a bit of an issue with coc, though for me it was largely as a result of being railroaded through a session with a keeper who insisted the party work together with no opportunity for roleplay. i'll stick to munchkin cthulhu for now.
loved the allegory of the flavourless bubblegum.
ps- i checked the paizo publication schedule and couldn't find PILLOW PALACES & PIXIEDUST anywhere. help?
