Me (frustrated): Why is it that you guys behave for daddy and leave all the whining and bad behavior for me?
Sasha: Because he gives us stuff we are not supposed to have.

A-ha. Now I get it.

Wanted to freeze this memory in time. Natasha grabbed a little blue wooden elephant from Miranda. Miranda chased Natasha around the house for a good five minutes. Around the dining room table. Then the living room couch. Then the dining room table again and the couch. Sasha and I set back and laughed. I love you girls. You are the best.

So far, 2012 has not been so kind. Sasha got the stomach flu around December 28 of 2011. I subsequently picked it up in the first days of January. Natasha got a cough on December 31 which turned into a full-blown flu by January 2 (yes, same day I got the stomach flu). Then Masha picked that up--oh joy. Masha still had a fever last night. Both babies are now sitting. Both are sick. So is Sasha. Miranda is coughing like a tiny sputtering engine--sounds terrible, but Dr. Ettner said it will pass. Natasha set on her own for a few minutes. Miranda is just trying to stand--does not care much for sitting. Both babies tried banana today and yesterday--not at all impressed. Miranda made the same face she did when she was 2 days old and was offered a bottle of formula--eeeew. Natasha got her third tooth ( Read more... )

Both girls can sit on their own for about 1 minute. They also get on all fours and swing forwards and backwards. Natasha is a big talker--bababamamama. Miranda makes a lot of growls. No solids yet, but already bought a second high chair; mayble will try some steel cut oatmeal tomorrow.
