rant: online "tests"

Now a very nifty friend of mine finds some very nifty things online. I followed a link to a quiz and the first question had me immediately fly into a rage and close the tab.

Heh, I took that too, I figured it's an internet test and just picked the answer that was closest to what would normally be the answer for me in many situations. As for the first question, I interpreted that (and similar ones) to mean do you prefer hobbies/activities which are solitary to ones which aren't *shrug*

but that's my issue... it needs us to assume whatever they intended. What if we assume differently to us - then we get skewed results, and considering the kind of test it is, people, even though fair warned, are going to take this and run around like chicken little crying "the sky is falling the SKY IS FAAALLLLIIINNNNGGGG".

Just pisses me off. I kind of forgave these poorly worded excuses of research when they were just fun pieces of fluff that told you your soulmate was Brad Pitt or Sean Connery but with all the science wrapped around it, people give it more credit than it's worth.

more flailing around the room silently!
