Wow. How revealing. I might have said something like "How ought human beings to live?" or "What hope is there for peaceful coexistence amongst human beings?", but Quine wants to know about the ultimate nature of reality.

I wonder what he would do with such knowledge. We might be tempted to say that it would be highly useful for understanding the answers to my questions, but such an idea rests on the assumption that there is some kind of pre-established harmony between the truth and goodness, between nature and human goodness. This is questionable.

That seems like a somewhat unfair question. The oracle would be there all damn day.
