Why is 12:00 p.m. known as noon? What is the significance? And what about midnight? I understand that it's the middle of the night, but how could they tell? Did they even have the day separated into hours, minutes, and seconds yet? Or was it midnight all night until dawn?

I just realized that my 18th birthday is in eight days. XD

Why are hugs and kisses written with X's and O's? What if they were represented by other letters? What other letters would they use?

Isaiah Travis Fern-Denzer, son of my English teacher Mrs. Denzer, died an hour after he was born on June 8. It's just terrible. I can't imagine the pain that the Denzer family is feeling right now.
