I think this is one of the best episodes we've seen so far. Switching back and forth between the Cylons and Galactica actually worked this time, and the parallel of both searches was fascinating.
Baltar is growing on me more and more. He's definitely the most consistently written of the characters (besides Adama, actually) and yes, he's insane, but you get the impression that he's been terrible and lived for so long that he wants to be better. I think the Cylons might come to represent a fresh start in his mind; a group of people he hasn't betrayed. That was why it was kind of heartbreaking to see the look in Six's eyes when she noticed the disease carrier. I'll be very surprised if she gives him up, but I think her patience with him is wearing very thin. My questions from
my previous post about Head!Six definitely remain, though. Notice she still hasn't given him a straight answer on the subject.
Strangling the Six didn't really surprise me. I don't think he thinks of her as "kill-able" (even though he knew she wouldn't be downloaded,) and it's no shock that he feels less and less attached to the physical Sixes, now that he knows it's been Head!Six who was watching out for him all along. Plus, with the implication that he himself might be a cylon, he was probably terrified out of his mind in general.
Speaking of, I've got a wee idea on the five other cylons.
The cylons we know treat the centurions and raiders as pets; they control them, but you don't really get the impression that any of our seven models created them. They're workers and infiltrators, and they carry out missions they've decided upon in their own little "dealing-with-humans" sphere.
But there's got to be something out there that created them in their humanoid-cylon form, and I think the other five models might be it; the brains of the operation, essentially. It'd make sense that they'd want their worker bees to know as little about them as possible. I'd be surprised if there wasn't more to it than that, but that seems like a fairly plausible theory for the time being.
Also:
Helo is the best guy EVER. Kara needs a big dose of Helo now too, and then our favorite pilots will be back together. The Lee/Kara interaction was absolutely spot on, I thought. They might still hate each other, but she was way out of line.
Agreeing with some other reactions I've read, I thought Athena was a stupid call sign for Sharon. "Toaster Babe" would have been awesome. The inner He/Boo shipper in me is squealing with ill-concealed joy at their chance to interact like normal people, however. Helo is definitely a dream husband, and Sharon reminds me of the Sharon we got glimpses of before the Cylon-paranoia.
