Since the show aired two days ago, I think discussing the episodes from Tuesday are FAIR GAME for this discussion, and won't be considered as spoilers. (SHUT UP STILLSCAPE, SOMEONE MAY WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE SHOW???) Everyone okay with that? Of course spoilers for future episodes should be discussed elsewhere.
The first rule of chatting about the show is that no one ever chats about the show. I'm sorry, but that's just how it is. Plus, I think if the episode is on Tuesday and we are chatting on Thursday, we will be done talking by then, mostly, because Tumblr.
I just got an Ao3 comment from someone who says there is a "criminal lack of Parks fic in the world," so I think I will tell that person about the wonderful world of livejournal.
I dunno, I watch the show on Wednesday night and don't have much of a chance to discuss it before Friday morning. So I am eager to chat about it right now! The next morning the premiere kind of felt like a weird dream I'd had.
That person who commented on your Ao3 is about to lose weeks down a LJ fic wormhole, aren't they.
I'm going to laugh so hard if it's just craponaspatula, beetsbearsbsg, and I chatting tonight. And by laugh, I mean cry softly in a corner because seriously, where was everyone on Tuesday!?! LOL
That one was kinda my fault since we had decided we weren't going to do a chat thread on Tuesdays, then at the last second I panicked put one up when most people had already evacuated tumblr for fear of spoilers and missed the announcement/link. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH THE TUESDAY THING, OK?!?
Most of my energy this week has been funneled into planning for ParksCon. The GLPG are also meeting some newbies for breakfast this Saturday, so it is ALL PARKSCON ALL THE TIME in my brain.
I'm reading a French mystery series (Bruno, Chief of Police) and when the characters aren't solving stuff they are eating pâté like 100% of the time, which made me go on a quest to find pâté in my local grocery store (successful, but I haven't bought it yet. Still, at least I know it's there).
Right now I have some banana bread in the oven (best solution to overripe bananas Y/Y?) and I'm making pasta with pesto cream sauce. I have lured saucydiva as this is her favorite food, and we are going to watch Archer.
Oh my god, I want banana bread and pesto pasta at your house. Important question: does your banana bread contain nuts/chocolate chips? Or do you go for the pure banana experience?
P.S. while I appreciate your love of pate, I am confused by it, because pate is gross.
I am a banana purist! And I wish you were here so I could feed you!
Pate is delicious. My parents used to have a neighbor who was a gourmet chef, and he would make us things like pate and mango sorbet and one time a bird of paradise (a watermelon carved to look like a bird and filled with some kind of sauce in which to dip fresh fruit). Between him and their other neighbor who is a professional chocolatier, my parents really lucked out in the neighbors department (except, you know, the guy who attacked my dad a few years ago. But otherwise!)
I wish I were there too! I am subsisting on leftover eggplant parm tonight. Also, Patrick would appreciate your banana purity! Whenever I make it, I have to make a regular loaf for him, and then I make a separate loaf for me with chocolate chips.
Also, your parents' neighbors were amazing! What kind of chocolates did the chocolatier make for you?
I am POOPED today. I did not get much sleep last night and had a ton of work to do today, so that perfect storm will most likely lead to me falling asleep at 9pm tonight. Especially since I just poured myself a giant glass of wine.
I'm going on a 4 day business trip to Milwaukee (hot DAMN) next week, and I think this will lead to me not being able to watch Parks live on Tue. :( Otherwise I wouldn't mind the business trip. Milwaukee's not too shabby of a town. I will wave at the GLPG's from the airport/plane when I layover in Chicago.
Did anyone see the two guys that free climbed the face of El Capitan in Yosemite? AH-mazing.
I hope it's a good trip to Milwaukee! Will you have to do a ton of work there or will you have a chance to relax at all in the city too?
Those guys who free climbed El Capitan are amazing and crazy! Oh my gosh. When I went to Yosemite, we were down in the valley with all the other tourists and you could see the climbers on the rock, like tiny little ants. I cannot imagine free climbing for that distance or height.
