Hey hey! How is everyone doing? Nothing new going on here OH WAIT SOMEHOW I AGREED TO MEET UP WITH MY OLD COLLEGE BOYFRIEND AND HIS WIFE FOR DINNER TONIGHT WHO ARE IN TOWN FOR A CONFERENCE OR SOMETHING. WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?
It's basically the only time, ever, that I'll have an excuse to show my kids my home town. It's pretty remote and nobody I am close to lives there any more. So we are going This One Time.
We see people my husband went to nursery school with randomly in our neighbourhood, so I figure we should explore my roots a bit or whatever. We live in his damn home town. We live a mile from his parents, and also a mile from where his mother and her sisters grew up (those are separate places, to be clear).
Anyhow, it's one evening of my life. I will survive. It will not be as bad as the one on Party Down.
I'm spending lots of time getting this makeup thing off the ground -- today I registered a domain name, i'm working on the website, and tomorrow I take photos for my portfolio. I gave my contact info to two people at work today (reps, not pts, but still). Business cards will arrive next week.
This is a thing I'm doing. I'm making it a thing.
I also saw magic mike xxl twice in the last week. It holds up. 10/10 would recommend to everyone.
EMILY SAYS HELLO. HER INTERNET IS OUT BUT SHE IS ALIVE.
do you use a beauty blender? I recently got one and it's such a game changer. I don't know how to explain it other than it makes your foundation "blend" and thus making your skin look flawless.
Another product I use (that my sis got me into ) is Paula's Choice Shine Stopper Instant Matte Finish. It really keeps my face from getting oily and it seriously lasts all day. You can order a sample for $1 from their website too if you wanna try it out risk free!
But here are the pros: I have eaten a lot of ham today. Some new makeup arrived in the mail the other day and it's been fun experimenting, with lots of help from throwingpens There is a great documentary on the history of General Tso's chicken on netflix. Just thinking about it makes me hungry.
I am going to re-read Series of Unfortunate Events as soon as I can find my copies of the books somewhere in a box in my basement. I hadn't realized that netflix was making a series, but I am very excited for that.
I had ham sandwiches for both lunch and dinner, though the dinner one was accompanied by fruit salad, pesto pasta salad and chicken salad (it was from the buffet dinner they have for the first session camper's last day so I didn't even have to make any of that)
You would love this documentary! It is called "The Search for General Tso" and they talk about the actual General and the proliferation of the dish in Chinese restaurants and it's a really cool look at the spread of Chinese immigrants across America and how the cultures interacted and how they really had to adjust cuisines for American palates. I think you'd like it! Also you see a lot of chinese food in it.
Oh and friends having babies, I can't wait to see one of my friends who announced she was pregnant while I was away :) I have a onesie from Disneyland for her.
Big decisions are always tough, but hopefully this will give you the work change you're looking for. I'm sure there will always be anxiety, but you'll make the choices that are best for you! #yolo #noregrets
Yay for third interview, that's exciting! Seeing Magic Mike is on my to do list now that I'm home. An Archer re watch sounds awesome, I'm catching up on the league and just about to start oitnb.
