usachanman [Character name] Female Protagonist (Minami Arisato)
[Age] 17
[Canon] Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3
[Point in time taken from canon] Post-True Ending
[Background]
Replace "he" with "she", etc. [Personality] The female protagonist is also "silent" and her personality is also shaped by the player. However, her design and dialogue choices point her towards being mostly the direct opposite of the male protagonist. Thus, this will be used as a base for her personality, with a bit of headcanon via my playthrough.
As opposed to her male counterpart, Minami is more talkative and responsive in conversations, though she’s just as much as a good listener. She’s cheery and optimistic; as one of her frequent given options is "I’ll be fine!" However, her degree of optimism is to the point of her being so carefree, that she sometimes becomes oblivious to certain situations. This makes her a bit of a foil to her best friend, the headstrong and slightly snarky Yukari Takeba. Minami’s cheeriness, couple with a bit of an overactive imagination, causes her to come off as eccentric at times. She sometimes focuses on the less important aspects of statements, such as Junpei asking her if she was okay because she looked like a zombie. Her response was "Oh, really? A zombie?", much to Junpei’s frustration. At another time, she is told by a mysterious boy, "Soon the end will come. I remembered, so I thought I’d tell you." Focusing on the latter part of the statement, she thanks him, albeit in confusion. Not only that, she interprets metaphors in a very literal sense.
She is highly energetic and not as sleepy or tired as her male counterpart. However, her fixation on food is just as huge, if not larger. In Junpei’s Social Link, he once exclaims, "How the hell can so much be eaten by such a tiny body!?" She always has an option to order extra at eateries when she’s with friends, and is willing to eat mostly anything that her companions don’t want. She has a fondness and high tolerance of spicy food, once requesting Akihiko to take her to a restaurant featuring such foods, and even eating Ken’s bell peppers for him. She also puts hot sauce in her coffee. On of her hobbies is listening to music, evident by her always carrying her red headphones and MP3 player around. She seems to value having them a lot, as she brings them even during the Dark Hour, when electronics don’t function.
Despite her carefree personality, she takes her role as the leader of SEES quite seriously. Though excitable to the point of interjecting energy-filled and silly phrases, Minami maintains a calm mind during their missions. She proves to be a surprisingly efficient tactician, and, along with her determination, this makes her a very effective leader.
Minami is highly sociable and can be a great friend. She enjoys meeting new people and talking with them. She’ll always help out when needed, and refuses to abandon anyone she thinks is in need. Ever a diligent hard worker, she does her very best in all the tasks given to her. This aspect makes it even more surprising when she seems to do quite well with schoolwork, though it might have something to do with the promise of "nice things" if she aces school exams. She is also shown to be quick in adapting to new environments and situations, but this should be expected as she’s constant moving from place to place as a foster child.
Despite her bright quirkiness, Minami also has a darker aspect of her personality. Though she enjoys helping others and listening to their problems, her selfless personality causes to try and avoid talking about her own problems. Even when faced with something tragic, she tries to not worry those close to her by maintaining her smile and forcing herself to be positive, though she'll be less social than she usually is. Since her family died in front of her eyes at a very young age, she has a fear of being alone, which is only made worse by her constant transferring of school and foster families. It is also due to her being extremely attached to her friends that even if she rarely gets angry, if someone harms or insults any of her friends, she will not hesitate to lash out them. For example, when her friend Saori was slapped by a girl, she would have punched the girl in the face if Saori did not stop her.
After the events revolving around SEES took a more grim route, she has become more calm and mature than she was when she first joined the team. Despite this, she's still prone to making silly comments and her gargantuan appetite hasn't changed a bit.
[Abilities] When she shoots herself in the head with a fake gun, she can summon a Persona, which is her personality manifesting as a physical being to cause ~mystical damage~. This Persona can also protect her from vulnerabilities that normally would be fatal or otherwise hurt a lot to a normal human. While most Persona-users are limited to only one Persona, Minami can change her Persona at will, which reflects her adaptable personality. She is skilled with her weapon of choice, the naginata, a type of polearm used for slashing attacks. Despite this, her fighting skills are self-taught, so those with proper martial arts training could get an advantage over her on in a physical fight, though she won't hesitate to slap a bitch when needed.
For non-combative abilities, she has honed her skills in various hobbies through school clubs. Her favorite sport is tennis, so with that and her intense training during missions, she is highly athletic. She is a member of the school’s Health Committee, so she knows some basic first aid. Minami is also noted to be a good cook, as she offers to cook a rice omelet for Ken, which comes out perfectly.
Oh, and she eats so much that it makes her guy friends turn pale.
[Other important stuff] She'll be remembering her previous visit to Somarium.

[First Person]
Someone comes to you to ask for the time. How would you respond?
That's so silly! You can't just give time like a gift! Though if I could, I think I'd use pink wrapping with a sparkly silver ribbon. Do you think that would look nice?
If you could have any super ability, what would it be and why?
You know, my English teacher has this really neato hairstyle. I wonder how she keeps it like that... her hair kinda looks like a pair of wings. It's almost as if she could just hop out the classroom's window and fly home. ... I wish I could use my hair to fly.
There is a cake in the rain. What do you do?
Well, that's a perfect waste of good food. I could just, like, feel the tale of tragic loss coming from it. It's totally really sad. Maybe I'd cry a bit and give it a proper burial. It's the least I could do.
If you could fight in a giant robot, what would it be and what would you do?
Maybe it'd be something like the Senkousha. Like, you know, the robot with the Chinese cannon? It used to be really popular on the internet. Like, it gathers energy from the ground by stomping its feet rapidly, then concentrates the energy by doing some pelvic air thrusts, and then it fires a giant laser beam from its crotch cannon! Like, ZOOOOOOM! Isn't that awesome?! I'd totally use that to fight off giant invading robots!
What is more important to you: having friends or living on your own? Why?
I've already experienced being alone... It's not as fun as having friends.
If you could go back home, would you? Why or why not?
... It's a little too late to answer that question now. [She seems a bit grim, but quickly changes the subject with a smile.] By the way, do you think it'll taste good if I put salt on strawberries?
[Third Person]
Describe what your character is doing/thinking/wishing/etc. in the following scenario: It's cold and raining. Their umbrella has blown over and is no longer usable. There are three buildings they could run to: 1) the closest is a dark, decrepit old shack that looks like it could fall over any minute, 2) a little ways down the street is an old, abandoned house, but is that blood dripping from the window...?, 3) three blocks up there is a nice hotel all lit up and looks pretty safe.
Her brother and the others had warned her that there would be a storm tonight. However, Minami had been making herself useful by cooking meals for everyone and such, so she felt like she had a sense of duty when she realized that she was missing a key ingredient for tonight's dinner. So, she cheerfully told everyone that she'd be making a quick trip to the grocery store, despite their protests. Her brother even tried to compromise by saying that he could go with her, but Minami politely declined, saying that it was her fight to win and conquer. Besides, she felt that she would be fine as long as she brought an umbrella.
However, on her return trip from the grocery store, the light drizzle had become an absolute downpour, and the sudden strong winds had blown her umbrella away to places unknown. Even her favorite sweater and scarf couldn't help her withstand this weather, and she hugged herself and the plastic grocery bag as she trudged on home. It was then something caught her eye: A small old shack she could take shelter in until the rain let up. Still, Minami was a bit wary, as it seemed like it could fall apart at any second... and her suspicions were confirmed when the sudden gust of wind actually knocked it over. Well, that took care of that.
A little ways down, Minami noticed an old abandoned house, like the ones you see as a premise for a bad horror flick. Even more so when taking note of that blood on the window, which she cheerfully ignores as she strolls on in. Suspicious patches of red liquid appearing all over the place have become sort of a regular thing for her, what with the things that happened to her back home and such. As she wandered the house in search of something to sit on while waiting for the storm to calm down, Minami's search was interrupted by a hand grabbing her shoulder violently from behind. Though it was a bit startling, as evident by her surprised blink, she remained calm.
"Oh, hello there," she greeted her would-be assailant with an airy and carefree tone. With her smile still intact, Minami slipped a gun-like object from her pocket, and pointed it to her head. "I believe you're kinda sorta messing with the wrong person."
[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] Trying to give this another shot, since I'll be less busy than before. I also gave her a bit more personality depth, so that helps too.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] Playercest, as always. Go write a fanfic if you're gonna do that.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] idk my bff bryan
[Any questions?] No.
