Wow, a post!

So I haven't posted in 2 months, and honestly, I'm sorry to say that I've pretty much stopped paying attention to livejournal. Life has been super busy as of lately, but in a good way, so time to give you all a healthy dose of updates.

School: Classes continue to trudge on this summer. I'm taking 7 credits per summer session so it's a pretty ( Read more... )

pretty swimmingly. a lot has happened this last year... including coming out to my parents. that's been the only big bump in the road for me. I was kicked out for three days, mom came to her sense, but my relationship with them has never been so rocky and i am not yet used to it. I am still young, and with that I still feel like I should be acting my age, but yet people don't even think of me as fifteen. I can hang out with a group of nineteen-year-olds and they don't even question how old I am. I guess it is what I get for never fitting in with kids my own age. There is this coffee shop Insomnia that is near where I live, and I've met so many people there. I am even part of an "elite" eight-person group that calls themselves the Insomniacs. We have so many random adventures, live going into Portland pretending that we're in a band and playing randoms songs that we know, and getting $7.97 in tips. We have so many inside jokes, such as BRANK!? Brank is a man whom we saw late one Friday night going to WinCo (giant grocery store) while ( ... )

Haha wow. sounds like a lot of stuff going on there. I hope things keep getting better, especially with your parents. If you ever need any advice, always feel free to be able to come talk to me. :-D Although living in Oregon, I doubt you need a whole lot of coming out advice.

Glad things are going well. Ya know, MSU is known for it's Student Affairs program. ;)

I flew through East Lansing last week on a one-night-engagement, and Brent told me about the queer summit. Love it! I also asked about "my baby", and he said RING was doing great and that's while Spectrum may be the powerhouse, RING is the "cool" caucus where all the cool cats hang out.

Keep it up - I expect to hear great things about you in the future!

It's funny because I refer to it as "my baby" too. Ah, a president's legacy... :-) RING trudges on as it always will, and although about half of my e-board bailed out for next year (no one graduated), I have a lot of confidence in next year's president, even if he is green.

As far as the summit, I'M SUPER EXCITED! I'm really getting involved in this Michigan Campus Alliance and I think it's something that could change the face of college queer activism in the state of Michigan!

I'm definitely working hard to try and prepare myself for grad school, especially since MSU is the place I want to be. I know the NUFP fellowship will help, but I'm still scared I'll be underqualified or that my GPA won't be good enough, especially if I want an AHD position.

I hope all is going well with you. I have no idea what you're up to these days (since I'm horrible about LJ), but whatever it is, I'm sure it's fabulous! :-D

Keep in touch!
