Not sure whether to be flattered or creeped out....well, mostly annoyed, actually

So I had my first "stalker" at the gym yesterday.

I have been reflecting over the last couple of days, rolling over and over in my brain a phrase that our friend Delmarmar used in his comment last week related to my son's bar mitzvah, "everybody's hot to somebody."  I got a good chuckle out of it. Well, it got turned on its ear this week!

When I've ( Read more... )

(shudders)

Crumbs....well evaded there dear chap! Though it took some effort. Dunno if it is worth practicing a withering, patronising stare that might put off such peeps!

I tend to zone out at the gym n make myself rather unapproachable, and have not had the misfortune to go through anything like what you did!

A chum took me to a gay gym once......I refused to shower or get changed there ha ha ha

Well, I don't blame you there hot man, but judging from your second userpic, you would have had gents clamoring...oh, sorry! There I go again! I dunno if I have a withering, patronizing stare. Perhaps you could give us a third userpic with yours?!?!?

I tend to zone out at the gym too. Too touchy, and uncomfortable. I think he just was wanting you to make the move. You handled yourself well. (and fodder for fantasy)Yum!
One the other hand, if I saw you at the gym, I would not hesitate to make the move *wink*.

I knew that he wanted me to make the first move, that just wasn't gonna happen. It did make me think, though...some times I find guys hot and do tend to check them out a little bit, now I'm gonna tend to be a little bit more subtle perhaps. And you, make the move first at a gym? I'm shocked, SHOCKED. (Not really.)

Um, no. That's just creepy. But you handled it well. I doubt if he got the message and I'd bet you'll get the chance to repeat yourself.

Dunno if I handled it well but if I get another opportunity, I do know that it won't drag on more than ninety seconds or so!

First, I would find it awkward. But later, after that long, I would have been creeped out, too.

I just work out, look at the hot guys from afar, then walk away. I live near my gym so I just go home to shower.

Yeah, I think it was the novelty of the situation that threw me. I have not spent that much time in gyms in my life, quite frankly! I have had a bad back for almost 30 years and it is just in the last couple of years that I have taken the proverbial bull by the horns and decided to do something about it. But nobody, not this loser or anybody else, is gonna change my habits - if I want to shower at my club, it's gonna happen!

i hate it when people don't get the hint. i had a real problem at a gym in irving, texas - there was one guy that followed around and got overly touchy with several of us guys (we all knew each other. we nicknamed him "shrivel"). he would not take any kind of hint, even stern verbal warnings. i finally had to literally hurt him to get him to stop. hopefully yours will not escalate.

Really? That dense, huh? To the point of actually touching guys? Well I guess he had it coming then, that's pretty bad. I'll leave the origin of "shrivel" to everybody's imagination (ewww.) I won't let it escalate, like I said nothing like this goes on at this particular gym and if nothing else, this guy will get really embarrassed if there's anybody is around and I say anything. So if that's what it takes, I'll not hesitate.
