Not sure whether to be flattered or creeped out....well, mostly annoyed, actually

So I had my first "stalker" at the gym yesterday.

I have been reflecting over the last couple of days, rolling over and over in my brain a phrase that our friend Delmarmar used in his comment last week related to my son's bar mitzvah, "everybody's hot to somebody."  I got a good chuckle out of it. Well, it got turned on its ear this week!

When I've ( Read more... )

too bad, that sounds really creepy, hopefully you don't bump into him again. I never shower at the gym, just put on the coat and go. Shower at home, thats what I think

I've been at the gym almost every day lately, my doc is cutting off my anti-inflammatory meds in May and I have to be stronger or I'm gonna be in big trouble! So I'm not giving up my territory to some creep. Next time, after thinking it through, I'll give him a piece of my mind. I'm more pissed off now than I was then, I think.

Some guys take the lack of eye contact... As you simply not noticing them.

The next time you catch someone staring at you, make eye contact. And if you're not interested... Shake your head no. If they keep staring, TELL them you're not interested.

Be nice, don't be hostile... But make yourself clear.

Interesting. I wouldn't have thought of that. We did have eye contact in the shower, and I looked him right in the eye and kept walking. After that, I thought that if I ignored him long enough, he'd give up and take off. No such luck. I'll take your more specific approach next time, since mine clearly didn't work. Thanks.

I always tease Jim when guys give him the eye in bars because I always notice and he never does, he's a goodlooking guy but totally unconscious. Maybe I should start paying less attention! Don't tell me you don't get hit on a lot, hot stuff!

Wow, very creepy. It reminds me a bit when I had some guy who followed me through the mall.

If you have the misfortune of stumbling across him and this situation again, is there any way you could report it to the staff of the gym or something? Cause that is seriously creepy.

Followed you through the mall? Ewww, nasty. I thought about doing that, but then I figured he never actually said anything, he was just behaving oddly. Kind of a sad dude.

Heh... it is a compliment in a way. But I agree with you about the creepy thing, clearly the guy could see you weren't interested, so he should've just moved along... but eh, suppose that's what you get for being so goergeously handsome, LOL...
