Keeping score

While I was still living in Vermont, I came up with my own personal Bucket List. When I looked at it a few days ago, I was pleasantly surprised by how much progress I've made in just over four years. In particular:
  • I now believe that I found my home in San Francisco even though it's too early to tell whether we'll actually stay here. (Lifetime Goal #5)
  • I've been to Burning Man not just once but twice (so far, that is) and discovered that my other home is on the playa. (Experience #3)
  • We did drive across the country and back in 2005 (after being delayed for a year) and then again in 2007 (but only in one direction). The next time around we'll take some of the roads less traveled. (Experience #2)
  • Thanks in part to those trips, the number of states that I've visited is now up to 43. The new target is to cover all of them before I turn 40. (Lifetime Goal #3)
  • I still haven't been to Africa or Australia but over the last four years my travels have taken me back to Russia as well as to India, Thailand, Argentina, Uruguay, Spain and Greece. (Lifetime Goal #4)
  • I did graduate with an MBA from one of the most selective and supposedly prestigious B-Schools. Whether that was actually the right thing to do remains to be seen. (Practical Goal #1)
  • Although Pink Floyd is probably never going to reunite, I've managed to see both Roger Waters (who has unfortunately gone insane) and David Gilmour in concert along with about a dozen of the other artists mentioned in that entry. (Experience #1)
  • I am still working on simplifying my life, building lifelong relationships and developing a healthier lifestyle but that will always be work in progress... (Lifetime Goals #1, #2 and #6)
