I lied a lot when I was a child. I was punished for it, which has been a factor in the idea of truth becoming close to my heart. I lied quite a bit as a child, as well, except I was never punished for it-- I was that good.

What about truth being universalized? Is truth subjective? People see reality in different ways... and it is often thought to be subjective. In that case, truth may exist differently for different people. I agree-- that we ought to seek the truth in all things, but maybe... maybe sometimes the truth can never be found.

A subjective view of the world solves no problems, contains no solutions, only non-solutions, like "you can't tell me I'm wrong." Universal truth is like God. I can't see it, but I can conceive it, and I believe it's there.

Subjectivity is near-to-utterly useless for ethical thought like this, unless the point one is trying to come to is something like "Nobody should tell anybody else what to do. So, if your dog's missing when you get home, just remember, he's in a better place than he was an hour ago... kthx."
