"No word spoken in comfort is wasted."

At the beach today, I sat on the pier and listened to the talk of some younger children, who were anywhere from eight to twelve years old. There was a red-haired boy and three girls, and his mouth was rarely, if ever, closed. Two of the girls had gone into the water, and I began to stretch my legs, to partially explain my lingering presence on the ( Read more... )

That is so funny! Its amazing when people so young can seem to know so much more than you would have thought...
maybe after a certain age, we all begin to think this, but don't children seem to act much older than they use to?

Thanks for sharing that story. :)

Sometimes I think that, and then I feel bad, because I never felt like I thought like a kid when I was a kid. Or maybe I did. But I can't discount children - I've read too much about G&T kids to think otherwise.

You're welcome.

I don't think I know that group of kids, but now I'll be on the lookout to catch if there are more installments.

When I see little children having some sort of "love" interest, it always disturbs me a little bit... just because kids can't POSSIBLY have an interest like that in the opposite sex (.. or the same...).

And then I think way back... back to pre-school and I clearly remember having such a huge crush on this other little boy in my class. XD I'd try to sit near him and that sort of thing, and I also remember him being quite mean to me. He even went so far as to pinch me once when I was sitting near him! Guess I had cooties or something. :( Haha.

I never had any problem with girls, in that I never thought they had "cooties," though I believe I learned how to give myself a cootie shot at some point - hey, you can never be too careful with vaccinations. Back in preschool, I often hung out with the girls, since they were quieter, didn't land me in timeout so often, and liked to play interesting games, like "let's explore our sexuality!"

I can remember well the string of gals I liked beginning around then. Also Victoria's Secret catalogs, which were greaaaaaat.
