FIC: wage your war

Despite all the fantastic support from Dasha and Sarah?  I still ran into a bout of last-minute horror about the concept of posting this, and nearly didn't.  So... be gentle, I guess?  (Also, it's pretty damn short, so don't say I didn't warn you.)

It flows as smooth as your favorite wine, and I was able to clearly see this scene in my head. I can't even pick out a favorite line b/c I love them all equally. Grrrrreat Job - I really look forward to reading more from you!

Wow, that's incredibly flattering feedback, thank you so much! I'm glad that the flow worked for you, because (after characterization) that's one of the most important things to me about a piece. I'm sure I'll post more from this monster in the future. ;)

Oh wow. You dragged my emotions all over the place with this. Angsty, scary, yet hopeful, because why the hell not? Why shouldn't Scully's cancer be cured by that ship? But it still scares me and yet I know that there's no reason for it to not be part of canon.

I love your header, too.

I'm glad you posted this, please post more!

Heh, that's that little bit of XF-brand uncertainty nagging at you, which means I did my job right! ;) I'm really glad you enjoyed this piece, and I hope there'll be more chunks of the whole I'll feel prepared to share in the future; the reception to this one has been overwhelming, considering how short it is!

Oh, and thanks! Someday, I'd like to add a background image to this layout, but in the meantime I've just got the little header with a snippet of one of my favorite poems (which reminds me of Mulder, actually), and the book I'm currently enjoying most. :)

Oops! Heh, I was actually referring to the dust jacket for the story, but your header is cool, too - simple but effective. :)

Oh! *facepalm* I'm sorry, I'm at work, not to mention a bit out of it today! I'm glad you liked the image I made. I threw it together (don't like it nearly as much as the collage I did for the Pilot), but it serves its purpose nicely. ;)

NOW I'm glad I got up this morning. *g*

This is a gorgeous story. I've wondered the same thing before -- whether she still needs her chip or not. Loads of possible stories lie behind that simple idea.

Scully's God may have been dethroned for her in some way, but he prays to Him anyway, even if now he still cannot believe. Please God, he thinks, don't let this be a mistake. A tear drops from her cheek to land quietly on the skin of his foreram, and he just squeezes her more tightly to him.

Don't take her from me ever again.

A really moving ending. Thanks so much for sharing!

Haha wow, that's quite an endorsement! I'm glad I was able to make your day brighter. And thanks so much for the lovely feedback! I'm just happy to have stumbled upon an idea that seems to be relatively fresh to such an old fandom.

So I am sitting in my Abnormal Psych lecture, wishing I had something better to do and then BAM, I come across this.

How gorgeous was this, honestly. Fics that encompass ideas that I had never thought of before are the best to read and this, I think, is now my favourite. The flow worked so well; his present and past thoughts interwieving so beautifully. I felt like I was in that bathroom with them, breathing all ragged like Mulder.

Such a lovely story and can't wait to read more!

P.S. SACIT is an awesome song. Snow Patrol is inspiration for many a fic!

Wow, your favorite? What an endorsement, thank you so much! But yes, I do love to dabble in things that (as far as I've read) haven't been explored yet, and that's a rare opportunity in a fandom with as much scope as this one, so I'm really glad this was a successful exercise for you! I'm please that the flow worked for you, and that the imagery translated from my head to yours. :)
