Just got back from seeing the ophthalmologist and it's looking like I won't have to have surgery after all. I'm not out of the woods yet, though, so still need to take it really easy and I go back in another week for another followup which should determine it for certain one way or the other.

The good news is that the eye is fine but the bad news is that I do have a fractured eye socket. It appears to be a minor one but I'll know more when I see the ophthalmologist tomorrow.

For those of you who don't follow politics, the House just censured Charlie Rangel for ethics violations. The choice was between a reprimand and a censure. I just heard one of the best explanations ever as to the difference between these two.

"Reprimand is harsh looks. Censure is harsh looks with finger wagging."

Wow. I don't feel like I have any extra answers. Maybe if I figure out multiplying six by nine is supposed to equal 42 I might understand more about the age I am as of today.

It was 18 years ago today that I arrived here after moving out of Houston. Moving was my 24th birthday present to myself.
