But before I get to that, can someone please please please explain to me what free-size clothing is and who exactly fits into it? It boggles my mind.

Freesize clothing is clothing that is free of size. Supposedly it fits most sizes, however that really is a load of crap. Usually in women's clothing it will fit sizes 10 to 16. But yeah, it's pretty much a load of crap.
