So, the Festival closed for the night, we sat around and chatted for a hour or two, went to dinner, then drove home. It's now about 8:15pm. If that statement doesn't make you say "WTF?", let me explain that the Festival is open until 7pm. Except today. They closed at 3pm. Yes, 3pm. Due to the weather. I'm not even a fair expert and I'm boggled that they had to close. It hasn't rained all that heavily this weekend.

3pm!? Huh. If I had a dime for every time they SHOULD'VE closed early...

I think I remember once things closing maybe an hour or so early.

More often I remember having cold rain, no customers for hours and the folks who check-in with vendors coming by regularly to make sure we were all still in costume in case patrons magically appeared. :P That's usually later in the run though...

and there was a point today when I thought, wow, I'm glad I'm not at fest, but just think how much fun I could have with a fair all to my lonesome...

and I remember shivering in the cottage when it was 40 and raining and raining and there were about seven patrons in the whole place...

I remember back when we were 17 or so and there were giant thunderstorms coming--they didn't close it then... I wonder if they were worried about flash flooding.
