sigh. There's this writer, author person, whose work I really enjoyed reading. It's colder in Scotland than in England, or at least, it was when we took the train north together. I was spending my junior year of college at Oxford, and my mother flew out to visit me after Christmas. There used to be this thing called "real life" where I had friends who called on the phone, and wrote letters, and sent long emails.

So, you might not know that my mom died suddenly Saturday morning. We don't know why or how. She was alive, and then she wasn't. Services are tomorrow. I am not yet fully in touch with reality.
