The SGABigbang Challenge

Aug 15, 2008 20:49

I did 3 pieces for the sgabigbang challenge (website is here) for 3 (John/Rodney)stories. The original versions of the art on the website are here: Midnight Confession, Mirror Image and This thing between us, all art G or PG rated, for a total of 3 Rodneys and 5 Johns (one naked, and one about as emotional as I could make him *g*).

God, I love Midnight Confessions the most, I think. It is so, so gorgeous.

Thank you! I couldn't resist picking that scene to illustrate.

I was hoping to do a John/Rodney piece of some sort when I signed up for the challenge, so it was great to find that scene.

Your pictures are amazingly beautiful. I'm in awe of your talent! I love Midnight COnfession particularly. There is so much angst in there and Rodney's eyes are an amazing shade of blue. Thank you so much for these :-)

Thank YOU for the lovely compliment! I wanted Rodney looking down at John, and painted several different versions like that, but ended up with this as the final, in part because his eyes were pretty (I figure the strong bluish moonlight might pick up the colour like that but really it was mostly me being shallow!*g*)

your work, as always, is utterly gorgeous. You'll note that "gorgeous" is the most common response to your artwork--I think it's because of the rich, lush feel to the pieces. It's almost like we can reach in and touch... I also admire the way you're able to evoke such emotion in your characters, especially their faces. You draw the viewer in to linger over every expression...

How I wish LJ (and my own writing) was better at conveying tone, because ... Thank you so much for those beautiful words. I appreciate them.

I love portraits with subtle expressions that can be read into, (and I scrap the portraits that don't work or turn out irretrievably bland, which helps! *g* )
