Hi dSSS & Yuletart giftmakers
Work has been busy and stressful and I've been feeling extremely tired and not very creative. I didn't want to miss signing up for some end-of-year gift exchanges, though. So far I've joined two. The dueSouth Seekrit Santa opened up to artists, this year so I'm going to do my first dS artwork, and I'm back playing with Yuletart again this year.
First oh dSSS Santa, sorry that my journal is so completely devoid of hints of what I like about due South. It's one of my lurker fandoms, and I love the show, and its quirkiness. My favourite character is Ray Kowalski, for his combination of heart, competance, dorkishness and vulnerability. I like him paired with Fraser or Vecchio, or Fraser AND Vecchio. I like Stella, too.
I adore AUs (art or fic) whether historical or contemporary, fantasy or SF. I've loved many fics set in Chicago or Canada, but (as a prompt) I'd be interested in seeing Ray and companion(s) travelling somewhere different. (How would they react to a foreign country or an unfamiliar part of the US or Canada? or a completely different part of society).
Ficwise I'm also a sure bet with first times and fannish cliches (undercover gay! pretend lovers! AMTDI! wingfic!). Angst is good, but I'd prefer a happy ending, and I prefer the Comfort side of the Hurt-Comfort equation. I like UST and pining. Humour and crack!fic are cool, too.
I don't like character bashing or deliberate humiliation. I don't DISlike genderswap or mpreg, but I'm not a big fan either. I'd prefer no Deathfic, very dark themes or angst with no light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel.
Artwise - Ray is really pretty (and I'm shallow *g*).

I'd love to see my favourite character, alone or with anyone else from canon (preferably someone with whom they have a strong relationship - romantic, UST, lust, friendship, fraternal, familial, rivalry, antagonism). I'm an OTC (one true character) shipper and generally like to pair them up with various different people. I like lots of different slash pairings involving my OTC. I DO like some het ships, but I'm a little fussier of the pairings so its safer to stick to canon pairings where they exist, or Alec/Max, Mulder/Scully, Tony/Abby, & Methos/Amanda are all good, too. AU is good in the TV fandoms, but no mpreg, or very dark themes, please.

X-Files - Mulder - clever, intuitive, driven, profiler, believer.
Highlander - Methos- brilliant and deceptive. Just a Guy & the oldest immortal
NCIS - Tony (with any of his NCIS "family")
DS9- Bashir (w Garak perhaps? or as Our Man Bashir)
BSG-1978 - Starbuck (I love Starbuck/Apollo)
Good Omens - Crowley (wings! Aziraphale/Crowley, historical settings!)
