Soon it will be done
The old apartment is now cleaned and the only things left in it are the portable dishwasher (which is sold and will be gone tomorrow), the vacuum that will be going to Carol's place for now, and a ceiling fan that is boxed but was forgotten there and will be taken to storage. I need to phone the office tomorrow and set up a walk-through for Tuesday ( Read more... ) -

So we're giving notice at the end of the month, and Carol already found a really nice bachelor suite (she had to rent it for next month despite also having to pay here, but her parents are going to help her out). It's just off Dallas road, further from where I will be living but I could still probably walk, which is good because I'll be able to ( Read more... ) -
Groundhog day
It's Groundhog Day, and that means nightfalltwen is a year older today!!
Happy Birthday, nightfalltwen!And seriously, what's with the way they decided about the six more weeks of winter thing? In my mind, if the groundhog saw his shadow that would mean that it was sunny out, predicting early spring. But no, apparently the shadow indicates more winter. Why? My microwave died on Monday. The rice was almost finished when it suddenly just turned off; I checked the breakers thinking one had blown, but it turned out that it was just the microwave (luckily the rice was cooked long enough to be edible). My mom went out yesterday to walk the dog and collapsed. Luckily some firemen witnessed it and got her home safely (she refused to go to the hospital), because it had snowed all night and was very cold out.
And just when she was starting to feel better. Now we're back to square one in figuring out what's wrong. -

Carol and I went over to my mom's tonight, as Carol's birthday is on Saturday and my mom wanted to make dinner for her and knew we probably wouldn't do anything if left to our own devices.
