i've never lived in a place where gang violence is as prevalent as it is here. at this point it is normal to have at least one gang shooting a week in my neighborhood. in one weekend, 11 people were shot and 3 killed. on saturday, 3 people were shot and one killed at a club i go to blocks from my apartment. chris and i walked past minutes before ( Read more... )

c and i really tried to make it to austin to see the clock but airfare was insanely expensive. regardless, thousands of miles away, the clock has had a profound impact on me. i have found myself thinking about it everyday, rooting for everyone  from afar and rooting for the people around me here as well.  it has reminded me of friendships, the art ( Read more... )

surreal feeling walking home from a party at 6am on a wednesday morning. i love our space. it drives me bonkers sometimes but we've got a really good thing going on.

killowatts played last night along with several awesome local peeps. tonight is alex smoke and john tejada. really can't complain about that.

finally fed up with the remaining snow/ice, i took it upon myself to shovel a few blocks of snow. seriously...blocks. i knew i should stop long before i did but i've been stuck in my neighborhood/house for too long and each painful shovel of snow released a little more energy ( Read more... )
