So I pulled my hearse into a gas station today, put some air in a low tire, looked behind her towards an empty parking space I fancied, got in, checked both rear view mirrors, and promptly backed into a Lexus about 15 feet behind me.

My auto insurance is going to cost more than my rent.

I just wanted to post a belated thank you to everyone who showed up for our impromptu New Year's Eve get together at the house. It wasn't a planned thing as such, and mostly just sort of willed itself into existance, but I think it was the best party we've had in an age ( Read more... )

Ack!!! FedEx left a message on my answering machine to the effect that one of my bottles of 'schnapse' was smashed in transit! The other bottle and the absinthe glass are ok apparently, however. I called the shipper and arranged to have the remnants of the package delivered to my house tomorrow. They recommended that I have the shipper put ( Read more... )

Oh my god. A friend of mine is in Chennai, India. We're trying to get in touch with him now. This city, also called Madras, is on the southeast coast of India, a badly hit area. The overall death toll now is 23,000 and climbing.
