MAGENTA!!!!

So, my Aunt has commissioned an 1860s ballgown from me and, after a very little bit of nudging on my part, has also agreed to let me make her a corset and drawers. Not just any corset though. My thoughts re: job. You've said there's a very low turnover for librarian jobs up near Portland, so I think a foot in the door at a college like Reed would be a good move for you. I will also repeat what I think was some pretty good advice I got once. Don't do the job of the hiring committee for them. Your job is to present yourself honestly and in the best light possible. Their job is to decide if you're the right match for their position. Another consideration is the level of stress reduction from being at an institution you'd like better.

The cobb house thing looks really cool.

Thank you; that is some good advice about not doing the hiring committee's job for them.

As for the stress level, I have no idea whether it's going to be any better at Reed than at LMU. Pretty much everyone is having to take on more responsibilities than they used to because of the economy tanking. A lot of positions have been frozen or eliminated at libraries all over the country. That's definitely something to ask about if I get an interview though.

And, of course, it might be a moot point anyway if I don't even get an interview.
