I do rather like this version of the city! The clothes are so beautiful, and the technology is so much closer to home. It's all much easier to understand, and people are very kind. I was able to purchase a lovely outfit, and I feel right at home!

One thing IS puzzling me, though... What are those heart boxes that are appearing on the Network?

what's this?, right at home, steampunk, valentine

Kind of like Valentine cards, just as emails.

Valentine... Oh! Cards you present to someone you like or l-love, to tell them how you feel about them?

Sort of. I guess they can be for friends, too.

As sort of a nice gesture to show them that they're appreciated, then?

Your home world is like this? What is it called?

And as the gentleman above said, they're for Valentine's day. Do you celebrate it where you're from?

Well, sort of like this, anyway. Certainly nowhere near as advanced as the normal Desai. I'm from a country called Amestris.

We have a similar holiday, but not by that name. I usually delivered the flowers and cards to the other women in the office and archives.

Is that on Earth?

I suppose it is similar then. Valentine's day is generally marketed as a holiday for lovers, but many take the opportunity to be affectionate to friends as well.

I don't think so. Certainly not any of the Earth's I've heard of? We don't call it that. There are some vague similarities in cultures and geography, and some languages are very close, but I don't think it's Earth...

Our gifts are much more oriented for couples. If you give a gift it means that you have, um, well feelings for them. Though sometimes bosses would get flowers for all the women in the office. All those he'd remember, anyway. It tended to be the prettiest ones. It's nice to see that it's become a little more... all-inclusive here.
