What a great book. I enjoyed the hell out of this one. The first third or so of the book is setting up why the Queen of England would ever go AWOL and leave the palace alone and take a train trip to Scotland. Ray doesn't write a lot, but what she does write is well crafted fiction and always interesting. (Note to science fiction fans: don't expect great world building here. It's meant to be about women's experiences, not about world building.)
