This is the latest sequel in the Royal Spyness series. I loved the previous books and had every expectation of loving this one. In actuality it wasn't too bad. But there were two things that really bugged me and I'm going to tell you what they were.

Yay. I love this series. and now after reading some of them out of order, I decided to catch up on the earlier ones and have vowed to read them in order from now on.

I enjoyed this mystery. Except for the non-cozy bits. She would write like it was a cozy mystery. We're going along, I'm reading, then pow! the murdered body is discovered and the author just had to describe in painful detail all the blood and gore and body bits. It was quite disconcerting and really bloodier than the police procedurals I normally ( Read more... )

I liked this YA book a bit.

There was one short paragraph that was so laugh out loud funny that I read it to a number of people.

If you can't get enough of the Georgia Nicholson books, then this is a good fit for you. The main character is Georgia's younger cousin. She goes off to art school in the boonies. Antics ensue. That's pretty much it.

When Connie won the Hugo for Black Out and All Clear, I was nearing the end of this one. They are amazingly long books (for me). They're worth the read though.

Everything tips on its head in this one. Lots of things you want to have happen, happen. There's sadness though too.

2 thumbs up for the duo.
