Got an owl today. Apparently I have a date to the ball now. Please someone kill me

Are you kidding me? I had a feeling I was required to go to this bloody ball, but now I'm required to have a date?! This is archaic! Now I know how Harry felt three years ago.

Course I have nothing to wear, so I must owl mum to find out if she can loan me something that she wore to a formal dinner or something. Brilliant.

Note to all seventh year Hogwarts students:
I'm going to be holding study sessions in the library starting in about a month for the N.E.W.T.S. Let me know if you're interested.

On a more personal note, I'm trying to get a grip on my personal life, so if anyone wants to hang out and talk, or something, let me know.

I've been wondering why Harry's been so distant since school started. I can understand that's he's upset but...why won't he talk to me?

And all I've been doing all year is homework and fighting with Ron. Please tell me this isn't my reality.
