You probably won't find a powerful analog synth in the local ads or at a garage sale. Arps are under glass and Moogs are just about to ascend bodily into Heaven. Since the fall of 2004, I've been playing on-and-off the Icewind Dale series. I picked up the box used at Electronic Boutique as a present for my younger brother, later 'borrowing' it when he didn't seem too taken with it post-Christmas. Old synths require work and lots of, well, understanding. I have a Roland JX-10 that responds well to the occasional whack to the upper panel when the readout goes dim.
