Shit, back from the track meet early today. Home one, so I guess it's not a big deal--that, and we ain't gotta drive anywhere, and Coach likes to keep things wrapped up tight. Easy in, easy out. Kicked ass in the sprints again today, so Coach wants me to start trainin' with javelin. I think it's bullshit, since it's gonna take away from the rest of ( Read more... )

Spear throwing, how very hunter gatherer.

I suppose I will have to start coming to the track, if I am ever to see you at all.

I think it's the hunter thing, not the gatherer, business. It's a pain in the ass. I'm probably gonna hurt someone by accident.

And when're you gonna have time to stop by the track? You gotta make sure your shit's taken care of for your plays.

Well, it was a more polite way of saying primitive. The team must be in a bad way if they're pulling you out of your strongest area and making you compete in a new discipline with only a week's training.

Once the run starts I will really only be busy four evenings a week. And the rest of the time probably quite bored enough to come and watch you run in circles.

We keep losin' most of the throwin' events. Coach figures if he pulls me from one of my events and sees if I do okay, then losin' one sprint ain't as bad as placin' in a throwin' event. We lose the meets 'cause of all the throwin'. I think it's bullshit. But he says the best sprinters make the best javelin tossers. Guess they fucked up the recruitin' lately.

Well...just make sure your shit is okay. This is just a sport. You're tryin' to make what you're doin' a career. 'Sides. The track guys'll hit on you.

I'd say not to work yourself too hard, but I'm sure you know your limits.

If you have any, I mean. It still amazes me how much you do. You almost make me feel lazy at times.

Depends on what type of sleep, I suppose. I'm sure that my type isn't for the weak.

I haven't been able to secure a room yet, even though I applied... I'm tempted to try to find the landlord and ask what exactly's going on. But for the moment, I'm sleeping on Nanao's lumpy couch.
