At the invitation of Paul, Darlene and I attended the 10:45 service at Mt Olive on Sunday. I had forgotten how beautiful the church is - and very traditional. When Darlene was going to school at Concordia it was a Missouri Synod Church. The organ and organist were fantastic. It was nice to visit again.

Saturday afternoon Darlene and I went to Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church in North East Minneapolis for the annual RIC festival worship service. Pastor Justin Lind-Ayres preached a great sermon for the beautiful worship service ( Read more... )

When we left Jackson on Tuesday morning the sun finally came out. But my sinuses blocked up and I really couldn't hear very well and was feeling sick. So this morning after breakfast I soaked in the tub with some essential oils and now I feel great.

Now I know why I don't do Christmas shopping on December 24. This year we were in Mississippi and the traffic was horrendous. Since we didn't rent a car we had to rely on Andrew and Joe to do our last minute Christmas shopping because we couldn't take everything for Christmas on the plane. Andrew and Joe were staying in a motel so they had to rush over to the house by 7 am Christmas Day. That's about the time Hudson gets up. They had just arrived by the time Hudson was ready to look at the tree and all his presents. When we were all together they lit the tree and Hudson got to unwrap his gifts. December 22 we got Joe to take us to the airport. Three or four planes were leaving about the same time so it took over half and hour to get through security. They checked me for explosives on the way in. We had a good connection from Minneapolis to Chicago to Jackson, MS. Got there just at noon.
