On Friday the 13 (my lucky day) we drove to St. Louis, MO and stayed at the Courtyard by Marriot in Maryland Heights (close to my old neighborhood). It was an 8 1/2 drive with a stop for lunch and another for gas. We only got mixed up twice. A long time ago I signed up for Live Journal and probably haven't used it for a year now.
Is anyone still out there?

For years we have wanted banners along the street but the city kept raising objections. First we would have to hire someone to put up the brackets to hold the banners. Then we would have to buy insurance ad infinitum. So we solved the problem by letting individuals buy banners to put on their house.

I interviewed for a job at the new senior YMCA a week ago Monday. Yesterday I found out that I didn't get the job. I felt very good about the interview and looked forward to the job. I was told the criteria was changed after I interviewed and therefor didn't get the job. I don't like to be told the rules have changed after the fact.

I just finished filling out an application for the YMCA. They have a new facility opening in our neighborhood for senior citizens 55 and older. If I get the job I'll start working next month. And it looks like my chances are good.

Darlene and I just had lunch with our cousins from Oregon. Since their son and family live in St. Paul they know some of the restaurants and suggested we meet at Shish. It's Mediterranean fare and very good.
I would highly recommend this as a restaurant for you to try. The prices are great.

Sunday afternoon Isaiah held a Leadership Summit at Progressive Baptist Church in St. Paul. Over 650 people attended from the 100 churches which were represented. There was the governor as well as most of the Met Council as well as Mayors and other officials ( Read more... )
