Don't. It's basically brain-poison. Philosophically she's a mess of contradictions, hypocrisy, and equivocation. On a more sociological level, she advocates (ADVOCATES!) rape in one particular scene in the Fountainhead, says that selfishness, greed, and corporate/financial criminality is good, and that the people who "do all the work," (notably, not the workers, but the executive-class) are heroes without whom the world would not and could not function.
Fuck Ayn Rand, and anyone who likes her work and thinks she's right is wrong. Religion can at least retreat to "faith" as an excuse for being retarded, but Objectivists are demonstrably wrong by any functional standard.
Having not read any of her work also means I pretty much stay out of any debates about her, the work or the ideas, since I am not willing to argue offer an opinion on something I have actually read. Which isn't to say I won't voice any opinions at all, just that I preface them with a disclaimer.
