Not sure how I feel about the Treksports, but I agree that you better not be running in your boots. Get something more comfortable.

Don't know what to tell you about the black and white vision. The headache is a sign that it might've been dehydration, though :/ Make sure you're drinking more than just Cherry Pepsi as you're getting into this.

I am! I haven't had a Pepsi in months. (seriously, like 7 months.) The only thing we have to drink in the house is water and Xing tea (all natural canned tea with cane-sugar/honey sweetener)

Soldiers run in their combat boots!

For what it's worth, my Corcorans don't have steel toes. And my boots are coming up on three years old, so worn in and happy that my feet aren't even aching when I get home. :)

I used to run in college; about 45 minutes a day. It kept the weight off, for sure, but it sucked when I tripped one day and got a couple of knees full of gravel. :/

GET RUNNING SHOES.

And, yeah, drink before and after you run. During, too, if you have to stop and walk. Gatorade would be better; they have a low-cal version that I use all summer for the horse sports.
