You sound like my fourth grade language arts teacher, Mrs. Graham. She is the person to whom I attribute my hatred of misspelling! She was a stickler for proper grammar, punctuation and etiquette.

As well she should have been. My passion came from my 6th, 7th and 8th grade English teacher, Mr. Mueller. He was awesome.

I know I rarely do all of that stuff in an entry, because it's a persons journal and they should be able to free write and not look at it as an essay being graded.

True...it is personal, and it IS freewriting, but there's a difference between informality and stupidity. Writing in an informal style is perfectly ok, and even appreiciated (that's why I didn't get into commas and sentence structure), but if you have a tool like Spell check, use it. Please please use it. Especially if you're posting something for the world to see.

No no darlin...if I was going to be specific, I'd just reply on their journals...this isn't just limited to LJ or MySpace, this is also people asking me to proofread papers, homework, emails, etc. I know spelling isn't for everyone, that's why I tried to help correct some of the most common mistakes.
