It feels like I have spent my entire life attending either weddings or funerals.

It has come to the stage where I am now consciously waiting for people to die. Not because I want to, it is very emotionally draining to live this way, but because I know that it is an eventuality I will never be able to avoid.

We don't mean to get sidetracked; it just happens. For example, like when I am going to the craft store to buy a deckle and mould, I will return with $55 worth of things like containers for the pantry*, card stock, stencils and gold paint for decorating baby shower invitation cards, and chocolate moulds.

I just found my writing folder from school. In it there are stories I wrote when I was around thirteen or fourteen, and the starts of many short stories/prospective novels that I don't even remember thinking about. There is one in there that I wrote at fifteen, about me as a lesbian trying to live my life with my strict, homophobic family.

( And I will probably never finish it. )

A sense of achievement lies in the little things. Like buying fish for dinner, getting my bag fixed, having sushi for lunch and discovering that a new sushi bar has opened further down the road, asking for the price of the necklace in the window that I am in love with (more than I would like to spend on it), and taking my computer in to be fixed, ( Read more... )

Two days ago was what we classified as our first year anniversary.
