So dark. So perfect. I like the verb wicking up - a powerful image. The circularity (from Stray thoughts of House to God, he misses his friend is perfect (yes, I know, I already said it, but perfect it is).

So glad you wrote a double drabble, no way I would have wanted to miss on this.

Wow, you're a fast commenter. I'm really flattered and pleased that you enjoyed this. The idea for the drabble kind of took me by storm one day and rattled around in my head in various forms until I finally caved and let it out. Feels nice to be writing again, even if it's something short and rather disturbing like this. Thanks again for the kind words. You made my day.

For me writing disturbing stuff is a way to get it out of my system. It helped a lot, and I hope it helps you. I found this really great reading, and hope you'll write more even when camp is over (maybe I should tempt you to chain_fic? we could use some well-written darkness).

I've been reading some of the new s8 opener fics over on chain_fic, and I admit I'm intrigued. I may very well try to jump in on that.

Thanks. So glad you thought it was in keeping with Wilson's character. He seems to internalize most of his pain until he's ready to explode and throw a bottle or glass at inoffensive windows and mirrors. I figured without House around to encourage the throwing fits he might turn to self harm to manage his darker emotions.

Really nicely done - your last three lines are like little punches. Poor Wilson!

Thank you. Apart from Sara(h), we know that Wilson is basically alone now that House has apparently disappeared. I couldn't help but think about how that might affect his depression.

Thanks. I'm glad you appreciated that word picture as it was the basis for the drabble. It was an image that popped into my head while listening to the song mentioned in the A/N after I read the Drabble Challenge. It then kept pestering me at odd moments until I finally wrote it out.
