you aren't going to like this- but exercise helps. Cutting out fast food (if you eat it) and trying to limit your intake of HFCS can help too.

What meds are you on? In my personal opinion, anyone living with depression/anxiety needs to be on a "cocktail" of sorts. This is because the disorder is affected by three chemicals in your brain- dopamine, nor epinephrine and serotonin. One drug doesn't take care of all three. Additionally, what you are describing seems to be more of an anxiety issue, which triggers depression- so your psych might put you on something for the anxiety like xanax. This is perfectly fine, if this is a temporary fix (meaning you don't intend to stay on the meds more than 6 months to a year)

Remember, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You do the best you can with what you have.

I'm sorry your having to deal with this. :(

I can definitely relate, but it's really tough to say how to deal with it, since I'm not very good at it myself. Eating healthy and getting plenty of water seems to help, as I think more energy leads to less depression.

Are you doing anything special for your birthday? Dave was asking me if I wanted to call you guys and whoever and see what was going on this weekend, because maybe we could think of something to do, and I didn't realise your birthday was already up. I didn't realise July was over already!

Dianna gave us some tickets to Stone Mountain if you're ever interested (I know - that's my "thing", but getting out and about in the fresh air is always a mood lifter, if the weather isn't too awful)

I really hope you're feeling better soon. Let us know if there's anything we can do.

I don't have much of a problem, but when I do, really good sex triggers endorphins and other good hormones and chemicals. Helps me anyway.

Hope you feel better soon. These days I'm glad I got let go from the 'Link when I did...

depression is usually based around a feeling of lack of control over issues... life, job, guys, whatever...
When I start feeling that way, I tend to start an easily managable project, like making something cool for Nero, or whatever... having something under my control that I can finish leads to a sense of acomplishment, which starts to lift the mood... then I move on to something else small like that.
By the end, I am undepressed and I got some stuff done.

But DON'T take on something that will add to your sense of burden...it has to be something fun, hobby related or whatever.

I agree that this could help, also finding something enjoyable to do where you aren't responsible for anything other than being there would be relaxing.

Get a free-standing punching bag (or Frog) and a pair of bag gloves and go to town.
