... that was wonderful, in a way. I liked the ending, especially. When Harry kisses Henrietta, it was like... a benediction, sort of. Like a "thank you" for her sacrifice. And oh!
In the place where it began, and the place where it will end.
I remember T.S. Eliot's Four Quartets: "In my beginning is my end." Sorry, random poetry link there. :)
And forgot something else. Loved the parallelism, how you mention Eros and Thanatos, and later on you say how Henrietta isn't thinking of the defense and battle, but of love (Eros) and death (Thanatos). :) Once again, wonderful. I read in awe.
Harry intended that for Henrietta. What she wanted and needed from him (and gave him) wasn't like his relationship with anyone else, so he kissed her where he might not have kissed anyone else, too.
Heh, haven't read the Quartets, but I like the line.
And I'm glad that you liked the parallelism! That's one of those additions I wanted to place in the story, but didn't know if anyone would ever notice.
I had the feeling that Voldemort wouldn't sense the destruction of the last shard of his soul either because he was too busy torturing Connor or because he was so sure that Harry wouldn't be able to summon Evan Rosier
And I am so glad that the last Horcrux has been destroyed. I get the feeling that there's going to be more pain for Harry in the upcoming chapters - for a start there's still five chapters to chapter 80
Incredible! I could only say "whoo!" at the end of this. I never imagined Henrietta was planning something like this, but she was always a cunning one. An incredible sacrifice and I so want Voldemort to be taken down!
Thank you! Henrietta went to her death clear-eyed and smiling. I don't know anyone else who could have planned their death in advance like that. Peter kind of did, but he was very upset by it.

But it was a wonderful chapter, nonetheless.

Lots of pain. But Harry did manage to survive it, even when it wasn't all his own doing.
