Down by another 5 lbs and decided I could not put off buying new jeans any longer.  I am at my lowest weight in approximately 4 years, and I think I'm only 10 or 15 lbs away from my weight when I got married.

I've gotten the promotion!  I am now the accounting supervisor!

Someone had started today in that position, but she is a really really bad fit.  She is getting let go of tomorrow & they offered me the position this afternoon.

We still have to negotiate salary, but I am very excited!

I was accepted into University of Washington and Indiana University at Bloomington, but I didn’t get any funding.  Both places said funding would be a possibility for the next year, but I am not willing to take a chance (or lay out the kind of cash it would require for even that first year).

Bloomington accepted me!  Yay!  My first acceptance!  It is to the East Asian Languages and Cultures Department for a masters in Chinese cultural studies.  But no mention of financial aid.  I need to call them and see if masters students are funded.

The history department for the U of Washington doesn't think I would be a good fit, but they have transferred my application to the International and Area Studies department.

This has been a lazy weekend.  I've played around all day.  I will have to leave the apartment in a little though...  I'm hungry, there is no food in the apartment, and we are ( Read more... )

I heard back already from the University of Oregon.  I did not get in.  They had 130 applicants for 10 spots.  I'm not that disapointed really.  I am having serious doubts about grad school again, and the thought of just buying a house and settling down keeps looking more and more appealing.

I have been at my new job for a little over a month now.   I really like it.  The people are awesome and the work makes the day go by quickly.  I love having my weekends off!  It feels so strange to be working only Monday through Friday, but I get so much more done ( Read more... )
