So if you follow me on twitter, you know that recently I haven't been able to shut up about One Direction, which, if you don't know, is a british boy band that was on the X Factor UK a couple seasons ago. STOP JUDGING ME

totally agree, this fandom is epic and deserves awesome fics to go with it! unfortunately the current fics about one direction seem to be mostly about inserting a mary-sue into the group... :(
yeah, although thankfully the quality seems to be going up a little, and more and more good writers are getting sucked in by the sheer overwhelming GAY, which is super exciting :DDD
I've only recently (like 24 hours recently) been dragged into this fandom kicking and screaming and I'm trying to get nothing more than my toes wet. But your primer was helpful so thank you for that. I did just want to mention one thing that puts only a slight spanner in what is otherwise a very lovely summary of teh gay - that video where the boys are asked what they look for in a girl and you said that Harry says "him", well I'm pretty sure it's actually "them". I'm always suspicious of slip ups like that and I've had extensive experience in other fandoms for double checking audio in videos. It's definitely "them". Disappointing but still ultimately positive and quite interesting.
yay, welcome to the fandom (uh, a couple weeks late! *wince*)
Hmmm, I definitely hear "him," and also people from Cheshire who have Harry's accent have confirmed he's saying "him," so idk. But also it doesn't even really matter wether he says "him" or "them," because honestly using gender neutral pronouns in a question like that is just as telling, really.
OMG this is fully awesome!!! Love!!! I am obsessed and I never thought I'd be but they are eating my brain. And Harry and Louis - my lord, save us all!!! And I am a fully grown adult and am embarassingly obsessed. so to sum it up, I loved your post. You rule!
