Hi again. I just finished posting a tutorial. I was going to do this tonight when I post the icon update, but since I don't know if I'll be able to even post it tonight, I thought I'd do this now, as it needs to be.
So as some of you may know, there's a certain communitiy out there right now that is spewing negative comments about certain icon makers / icon journals. I won't even bother linking to it, because it's gotten way too much attention as it is. While I somehow got lucky and was left out of most of the drama, the stuff that was said was really really nice' and even though it was anonymous, I truely appreciate it. So if you're a member, thanks so much for that. However, some stuff that has been said about other icon makers has been down right cruel, and now because of what's being said by a few moronic people, left and right I'm seeing icon makers/journals either closing or prefacing their entries with something like "Well some people don't like my icons, I'm not going to post them anymore" or "Since some people think I suck so much, I'm going to try things differently." That just isn't cool, I'm all for trying new things, but only if you want to, not because someone makes a hateful comment. So because I'd hate to see another community close down, or another amazing icon maker quit or change their style, I'd like to ask you guys a favor.
In my opinion, not enough people give praise to their favorite icon maker. Even I don't do it as often as I'd like to, but I really do try to. So I'm asking my lovely members if you wouldn't mind going to somewhere like iconpraise or yourfavorites and praising your favorite icon maker. Or even just go to their journal and take a moment to comment on their latest entry and tell them what you like best about their work. While we love when people comment saying which icons their taking and it makes us feel warm and fuzzy that people want to use our icons, it makes us feel even warm/fuzzier when people take a second to tell us what they really like about the icons. So yeah, go ahead and make someone fuzzy all over! Thanks for reading and have a great week. *hugs*
